Syngonium Strawberry Cream

Syngonium Strawberry Cream

About:

Syngonium podophyllum ‘Strawberry Cream’ is one of many attractive Arrowhead Plants, and is quite versatile when cultivated indoors. Its remarkable foliage emerges a creamy pink color that may mellow out to green with pink veining as the plant develops. This Aroid thrives in low to bright indirect sunlight, though it can’t tolerate any direct beams on the tender leaves. As a tropical understory plant, it is a natural climber, and it will happily snake up a moss pole to produce mature foliage. New growth can be pinched back to create a bushier appearance, or you can simply let it vine and sprawl organically in your space!

Water

Water when the soil surface starts to dry. This plant likes to be on the moist side, but not wet or soggy. My arrowhead plant is about 4 feet from an east facing window (pretty sunny) and watering weekly does the job.

Soil

These plants enjoy a rich organic mix of soil. Many recommend using an african violet soil mix. You can use a potting soil that is rich in fertilizer.

Light

This plant can tolerate shaded light, but the more variegated and splashes of color, the more light required. It’s best to place indirect light.

Propagation

You can propagate by taking a cutting (right below a node – typically located below where a new leaf grows from) or by plant division.
