Fatsia Japonica

Fatsia Japonica

About:

Fatsia japonica 'Spider's Web' (Japanese Aralia) is an evergreen shrub with large, palmate green leaves bordered with white speckling. Fatsia japonica 'Spider's Web' makes a stunning accent plant in a shady garden - as the plants mature, the variegation becomes more pronounced.

Light

The Fatsia will appreciate a medium to bright indirect light setting. Direct sunlight should always be avoided as it can burn the leaves. A shady spot that still gets natural light is perfect.

Water

The Fatsia likes to be kept evenly moist to encourage growth. Let the top ¼ of the soil dry out before watering but make sure to never let the whole plant dry out. When it is ready to be watered, give it enough so water pours out the drainage holes.

Humidity

The Fatsia does not necessarily need extra humidity to thrive but you should avoid putting it near warm or cold drafts (i.e door or air vent).

Soil

Fatsia Japonica is not too particular on the type of soil it needs. As long a you use a well draining potting soil your Fatsia will be happy.
